The Kawana house is a fusion of the Japanese love of harmony and respect for nature and the Western architecture of steel and glass. It is exploration of traditional Japanese architecture in a modern context. Sited on a dramatic stretch of volcanic coastline where long, inaccessible fingers of lava jut into Sagami Bay, the change in levels across the site and the views out to sea are main things to consider in house design. Full-height glazed sliding doors line the perimeter, allowing the living spaces to open out on t terraces, to capture amazing landscape views around. It’s not usual for traditional Japanese architecture to have a lot of light inside the house but that becomes more and more popular in modern. Besides glazed doors and big windows, Kawana house has the roof as a fifth facade of glass [via].

Condominium Interior Design | Home Decor Ideas

its didn’t exist at all before the new luxury condos came in to the scene. But 900 Biscayne has brought the luxury Miami lifestyle to this place of the city. 500 upscale waterfront residences make this tower an ultra luxury high rise choice of 63 stories full of comfort and style. Among the most recognizable elements of these apartments is the contemporary design with and the coolness of it curvy facade made with impact resistant glass. This masterpiece was designed by the famous Revuelta Leon architects firm that is also responsible for other very famous luxury Miami buildings like the Santa Maria in Brickell.

Quality and great taste can be admired in these downtown Miami condos. The atmosphere that can be filled here is a very cosmopolitan one in a clean and sleek yet bold luxury high rise. The lobby entrance at this tall residential structure is reminiscent of some bigger and more refined cities like Chicago. But the tropical flavor is omnipresent in the freshness of the exterior design. Very elegant and original details have been incorporated into the interior design of the 900 Biscayne condos. Natural light flows into the lobby space through a massive glass on the high of the ceiling that supports part of one of the swimming pools. This great design achievement brings movement and a light sunshine inside the structure.

Thirteen private elevators conduct residents into ample living spaces that range from spacious one bedroom condos to big three bedrooms apartments and very select penthouses. The building also features a massive health club of open 4,000 sq ft of space with the latest fitness equipment. Two swimming pools are located on the pool deck with, one of them with a lagoon style design. An elegant theater is also part of the luxuries that residents of this majestic property can enjoy.

Great Ideas for Decorating Your Apartement

Luckily, most interior decorating concerns non-structural work that focuses on color and furniture layout. Still, renter decorators tend to seek quicker, cheaper solutions to their decoration challenges than their home owner counterparts. In big cities where rents are high and space is at a premium, this difference is even more pronounced. In fact, the hipper the neighborhood, the more creative you have to be.

Get it off the ground:

It’s an unforgiving rule of nature: the more fashionable the neighborhood, the higher the rent and the smaller the space. If you were to put the furniture from a one bedroom apartment from Des Moines Iowa into a one bedroom apartment in the West Village, chances are you wouldn’t be able to take a step without bumping into something. New city arrivals quickly learn to mount bookshelves on the wall whenever possible and minimize the amount of four legged furniture items that take up precious floor space. Urban furniture stores address this with décor designed for this purpose. Even if you can’t afford a swanky thin, modular bookshelf, they are fairly easy to build on your own. One friend of mine faced with budget and space restrictions came up with the imaginative idea of building bookshelves that hang on a series of 30 degree angles; creating a zig zag effect that made me wonder why it had never been done before, as they say “Necessity is the mother of invention”. Even beds can be wall mounted, designed to swing down from the wall when needed. The classic Murphy bed is a good example.

Using Mirrors:

Many small restaurants employ the technique of using mirrors to make their space appear larger. Mirrors reflect light and, as a result, double the perception of depth in a given room. Mirrors are available in a broad variety of shapes, sizes and frames. Pick out a mirror design that works best for your given wall space. You can even get a pair of mirrors and mount them opposite one another for compounded reflections that create an even larger perception of space. Remember, in the world of interior design, perception is nine tenths reality.

Two Spaces In One:

A great tip for addressing the storage problems of a small space is to elevate the bed. Once elevated, the space beneath the bed can become an ideal storage area. The higher your ceiling, the more elevation (and thus storage) you can get away with. Another great small apartment item is the travel trunk. Get a large trunk, put it by a window, throw a few pillows on it, and presto, you’ve got window seating area with a little touch of adventure [via].

3 Amazing Houseboats | Deviant home Designs

If the Waterworld version of apocalyptic predictions ever comes to pass, this solar houseboat concept could be a relatively comfortable way to survive the chaos. Inspired by a fishing bobber, the house has a flotation belt and is half-submerged for stability even in the face of large waves. An upper-level garden grabs all those harsh rays of sunlight, which are also harvested for power.

With a limited allowable footprint and a request from the homeowners that the design be fitting both for living and entertaining, Vandeventer + Carlander Architects designed this floating home in Seattle to be versatile and elegant. At 2,824 square feet, it’s larger than many homes on land, and even has an 887-square-foot deck. Aluminum cladding, strategically placed windows and decks allowed the designers to achieve a look that is “visually interesting and coherent.”

Made from two catamaran beams, stainless steel and glass, this collaboration between X-ARchitects and designer Leen Vandaele is a crisp and modern home base in the Dubai marina. A terrace with a glass roof, reached by a spiral staircase, also acts as a sun deck.

Firstly, to be samples of his luxury home design work to feature in his residential portfolio and secondly, one of the homes would eventually become the office and living quarters for his self when construction is completed. The luxury home design service would be a welcome extension to his current offer of services and being something he enjoy thoroughly would give he opportunity to travel and design for international clients. Many business clients see his assistance in their corporate lives as being valuable enough to invite he to design some of their personal requirements. One of the luxuries of being a creative person is that your job description can be as versatile as your imagination.

The homes are being built at the new development “Harbor Quays” which is the waterfront land release adjacent to Harbor Town shopping center that Lewis Land have put together. Lewis Land is the group responsible for The Sovereign Islands and Ephraim Island.
