Loft Interior Design in Minimalist and Modern White Themes

The white color is dominating around the floors and hightlights the shadows, the distances and the independent elements like chairs, a sofa, a table and other furniture. When you enter the home you see an open space that seeks a balance between the linearity imposed by the long, parallel main walls. The central table in structural glass (design Romolo Stanco for NIccolai), surrounded by Panton chairs (Verner Panton for Vitra) filters the living room open space in a quiet, understated way, also providing a counterpoint to the sofa. The loft area, which can only be reached by climbing the suspended dinosaur-back like stairs, is the relax-night zone. It is only separated from the living room by a glass that has the same function of theatrical wings. The essential, low bed is opposed to the expressive bathtub (“La vasca” by Matteo Thun).

Urban House Design For A DJ With Three-Dimensional Interior | Contemporary House Design

This called FJ House and was built by Studio Guilherme Torres for a young, single, businessman DJ. The property was completely changed; all the separations were removed, except for the bedrooms and toilets. The designers decided that if the owner of the house is a DJ, they should reflect it in the interior. That’s why some windows were eliminated to create a three-dimensional effect, like in a night club. The light was made with the help of LED. The walls and ceiling were built with plasterboard and then covered with polymer cement. The interior is rather modern and mannish; it can be seen even in the bathroom as the bath is black. Everything looks very laconic and contemporary, the house is completely ready for a party with owner’s music!

Artist Carouschka Streijffert Created The Loft Studio in Stockholm

The playful changing forms of the windows seem somewhat random yet work together to create a cohesive livable space. The library sports items from Le Corbusier and a handmade rug by Carouschka. The atypical open plan of the living areas steps away from the norm by changing a person’s sense of space. The library drops down in height from the living spaces, providing an unusual view of the kitchen. This further enhances the scullery layout of the kitchen, revealing the marble and birch finishes used in its construction.

Another feature that is a focal point is the stepped chimney which both hides the stairs and leads you to them. These strong lineal elements of these features contrast to the sculptural and organic nature of the walls and ceilings which almost seem to grow from the floor.

The external skin reflects the internal workings of the space. The geometrical nature of the studio is evident in everything from the bathtub to the balustrade to floors, walls and ceiling. This dichotomous nature proves to be a success through its innovative way of combining ideals which both contradict yet work together
